Family Christian Centre has agreed to send a team in March 2019 to help build an orphanage!
Located in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Roy and Avis Rideout started the Agape home for babies with HIV/AIDS which opened in May 1996, as a response to the plight of children impacted by the spread of HIV/AIDS across Thailand. Many of the children who come to the Agape home to live are, or are at risk of being, HIV positive. Many of them have already lost their parents to AIDS, and there are no other options for their care. Agape home provides a loving family for over 100 children aged 0-21 years and these numbers are growing quickly every day. One specific group of children who desperately need support are the special needs kids who would otherwise be sent to the streets to survive without any care or support from any government programs.
Due to the need of a new orphanage, the Family Christian Centre has agreed to send a team in March 2019 to help build a home for these kids with a commitment of $80,000. One of the ways we are raising these funds is by launching a “Buy-A-Brick campaign”. Through this campaign we are looking for Individuals, families, and businesses who can support this project through purchasing bricks at $10 each until we reach our goal of $80,000. We truly believe that everyone has a responsibility to help a child in need and through this campaign we can make a difference in a child’s life.
Our STM team will be hosting several fundraisers over the next few months to raise the funds needed for this important project. Stay up-to-date on the upcoming fundraisers here!
